A Liederabend that takes on the female perspective on matters of the heart and explores how women's emotions and experiences are represented in the music of the past and present.
The program builds a bridge between two different eras and locations:
Germany in the 19th century, where the artist couple Robert and Clara Schumann composed love songs with and for each other, and the USA from the late 20th century to the present - a place where the romantic art song of European tradition was reinterpreted in a modern way.
Works by Robert Schumann, Clara Schumann, Aaron Copland, Dale Trumbore, Samuel Barber and John Hall.
Voice: Anna Schors
Piano: Lucia Brighenti
