Forgotten Female Composers Series - NOCTURNE

  • Tagtigall 6A Herrfurthstraße Berlin, BE, 12049 Germany (map)

The second season of the Forgotten Female Composers Series directed by Lysistrata Chamber Collective is opening!

A series dedicated exclusively to music composed by women, from past to present; a place for curious minds to listen to new music that shouldn't go unheard, discover new stories, reflect on what can yet be learnt from history and from stories that are still untold.

NOCTURNE. Songs of sleep and dreams.

“Night, when words fade and things come alive. When the destructive analysis of day is done, and all that is truly important becomes whole and sound again.” — Anaïs Nin (1903-1977)

Night, darkness, sleep, dreams… all have been interpreted as good as well as bad, yet undoubtedly mysterious and hiding treasures or terrors.

Embark on an musical journey with us, into the contemplative essence of the night sky and the depth of the darkness, delving into the mysteries of sleep and the vast realms of dreams, and about the universal yet deeply personal sanctuary that is our nightly reprieve, through music inspired by these images all by female composers from the past and the present.

There will also be a special selection of wines from EKHI, the first wine brand dedicated to French women winemakers. Just as in the music world, the names and stories of women winemakers are still to be discovered in viticulture circles - be it professional or public.
