Forgotten Female Composers Series - SOUNDS OF THE WINDS

  • Tagtigall 6A Herrfurthstraße Berlin, BE, 12049 Germany (map)

The second season of the Forgotten Female Composers Series directed by Lysistrata Chamber Collective is opening!

A series dedicated exclusively to music composed by women, from past to present; a place for curious minds to listen to new music that shouldn't go unheard, discover new stories, reflect on what can yet be learnt from history and from stories that are still untold.

SOUNDS OF THE WINDS. Music for woodwinds & more

And all the winds go sighing, for sweet things dying” - Christina Georgina Rossetti (1830/1894)

A captivating selection of pieces for wind trio places the spotlight squarely on wind instruments, exploring a unique and memorable acoustic landscape. These instruments, fueled by the human breath, evoke the poetic duality of the word “wind” as a natural phenomenon. Consequently the programme will be complemented by a group of carefully chosen songs for piano and voice – words, that just like the “sounds of the wind” are floating on vocalised air.

There will also be a special selection of wines from EKHI, the first wine brand dedicated to French women winemakers. Just as in the music world, the names and stories of women winemakers are still to be discovered in viticulture circles - be it professional or public.
