FORGOTTEN FEMALE COMPOSERS SERIES, started in December 2022, is an ongoing concert series in Berlin directed by Lysistrata Chamber Collective.

Through this series, we aim to provide a platform to showcase contemporary female composers and, at the same time, to liberate unjustly forgotten female artists of the past from their shadowy existence and to normalise performances of works by female composers. Our concert programs are specially melded around a theme of choice, as to present to our public a relatable topic while featuring the works of these high-quality female composers, telling their inspiring life stories in an informal salon-style atmosphere which creates a welcoming atmosphere for all kind of listeners.

Dedicated exclusively to classical music composed by female composers, from the past to the present, this is a place for curious minds to listen to new music, discover new stories, reflect on what can yet be learnt from history and from stories that are still untold.
