A new concert series presented by Lysistrata Chamber Collective dedicated exclusively to classical music composed by women, from the past to the present. A place for curious minds to listen to new music that shouldn't go unheard, discover new stories, reflect on what can yet be learnt from history and from stories that are still untold.
COLORS OF SPRING.
"Never yet was a springtime, when the buds forgot to bloom." — Margaret Elizabeth Sangster (1838-1912)
An homage and a celebration of spring: the season of rebirth, awakening, newfound joy, the appreciation of the small things, and amazement at the beauty and perseverance of nature. A carefully selected programme to take you on a musical journey through spring, through the sounds and atmosphere of this new season, the colors in the sky and all around us, the blooming of the flowers and trees, the emotions of leaving winter behind us and embracing the spirit of change.
COLORS OF SPRING will feature our musicians in various chamber music formations, performing music from 19th century to nowadays, including Mel Bonis, Lili Boulanger, Ingrid Stölzel and Jennifer Higdon.
There will also be a special selection of wines from female winemakers by EKHI purchasable on site. Just as in the music world, the names and stories of female winemakers are still to be discovered in viticulture circles - be it professional or public.
